Annapurna Base Camp trekking begins from Pokhara a beautiful valley blessed with mountains, green hills and serene lakes of Begnas and Phewa. From Pokhara, an exciting drive leads you to high green hills following glacial Modi River right up to its source at Annapurna Base Camp, as walk progress through nice farm villages of Landruk, Jhinu and at Chomrong one of the largest Gurung village.
Gurung people are famously renowned as ‘Gorkha soldiers’ enlisted in foreign legions UK, India, Brunei and Singapore, beside they are farmers and cattle herders.
As walks leads further with scenic views of Annapurna Mountains, then reaching at beautiful sanctuary and in Annapurna base camp, this marvelous spot surrounded by peaks and glaciers, after an enjoyable adventure and in comfort of nice cozy lodge.
From Annapurna Base Camp, enjoy close views of Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545ft), Vara-Shikar peaks / Annapurna Fang, Annapurna South (7,219m/23,693ft), Huin-chuli, Gangapurna (7,455m/24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m/24,787ft) includes many adjoining peaks Tent / Tharpu Chuli, Singu Chuli / Fluted peak with Mt. Our return route leads downhill to Pokhara and then flight back at Kathmandu after a fascinating and memorable time on Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.

We will welcome you at the international airport and guide you through the initial culture shock of Kathmandu’s narrow, winding streets to get you settled into your hotel.
In the afternoon (depending on your arrival time) we can take you on a bazaar walk exploring the secret alleys and courtyards of old Kathmandu that most visitors don’t get to experience.
We begin by walking into the old city and exploring the small alleyways, myriad of hidden temples belonging to both Hinduism and Buddhism (in some cases, both!) and make our way through local bazaars of fruit, vegetables, spices and stunning wares made of brass, bronze and copper. Not only exotic produce, but a fascinating mix of people are everywhere; along with the brightly clad locals of the Kathmandu Valley, you’re likely to see ‘Gurkhas’, Sherpa women in their striped aprons, traders from India, and sadhus – Hindu holy men – perhaps on pilgrimage to one of the many temples and shrines of the valley. After breakfast today, we embark on a full day of sightseeing to get to know the incredible Kathmandu Valley. Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and you will be chauffeured by private vehicle to three out of an incredible seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley.
First you will visit the Swoyambhunath Temple. Also known as the Monkey Temple for the many resident monkeys that scamper around the myriad of small shrines and temples, this ancient Buddhist Stupa is perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley and is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. From here you will proceed to Patan, also known as Lalitpur, the city of fine arts. Patan is one of the three ancient cities of the Kathmandu Valley and the Patan Durbar Square showcases stunningly preserved temples and palace complexes.
Your final exploration today takes you to Pashupatinath temple, one of the holiest temples in the Hindu religion. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the three main gods in Hinduism, as his birthplace. Situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, Pashupatinath is the main cremation site for Hindus in the Kathmandu Valley, with cremation ghats lining the Bagmati River below the temple. Early morning, you will be driven to Pokhara through the beautiful Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside and transfer to the hotel. You can take rest of the time to explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Overnight in Pokhara.

You will be driven to Phedi from Pokhara and begin to trek towards Dhampus, a pleasant Gurung village that offers great views of Himchuli, Annapurna south, and fishtails. You will move up all the way through Pothana village with the scenic views of Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Fishtail, and Mt. Dhaulagiri. The walk leads to Deurali which is the highest point of the day. Then track moves down to Bhise Kharka through thick rainforest and goes on ascending up to Tolka. From Tolka you can observe wonderful views of the mountain range. Overnight in Tolka.

The trail goes down to Landrung through oak forest, terraced fields, pleasant village. Landrung is a charming village of Gurung, Magar, Brahmins. You will have to move down and up to Jhinudanda where you can get a chance to relax at the hot spring of Modi River. After the bath, the trail will ascend up to Chhomrong with the huge views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Fishtail. Overnight in Chhomrong village.

You will be heading to Dovan along the Modi Khola leaving behind inhabited foothills into the high step and wooded slopes of Himalayas. You will cross the suspension bridge and then have to trek up to Sinuwa Danda. The ascend from Sinuwa becomes somewhat flatter. The trail passes by Khuldighar. Then, you have to descend long and steep stone steps into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests through which you will reach Bamboo. After a gentle climb of 1 ½ hour walking, you will reach Dovan. Today, we trek up through the rhododendron forest alongside Modi Khola to Himalaya Hotel (2,920m). Taking a lunch break on the way, we will ahead to Hinku Cave which used to be a landmark for the earlier Annapurna I expeditions as it was used as a camp and a supply depot. We walk uphill through the jungle trail to reach Deurali (3,200m) Overnight in Deurali.

Leaving Deurali, the valley narrows even more as you enter the gateway to the Sanctuary. You will need to climb up to the area which is called Macchappuchare Base Camp, a level and grassy moraine platform with several lodges. In the afternoon you can go up to the ridge behind camp to look down onto the glacier and absorb the distant view of Annapurna 1 and 3, Gangapurna, and by straining your neck upwards the nearby Fishtail. It is fairly a gentle ascend from the camp to Annapurna South Base Camp with a distance of only about 4 kilometers or 2½ miles. Increasingly impressive views rewards you for the efforts as you climb the last steep section before reaching the base camp area. The afternoon is free to relax and you can admire one of the most stunning mountain amphitheaters in the Himalaya. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.

You will need to get up in the early morning to savor the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas from ABC. After taking breakfast, you will start descending from ABC to Bamboo back through MBC, Deurali, and Dovan and finally reaching Bamboo. You will pass through the forests with great views of the Fishtail and Hiunchuli mountains. Overnight in Bamboo.

Leaving Dovan you will have a vertical way up to the Kuldi Ghar then Sinuwa, following the stone steps that takes you to Lower Chhomrong. After that, you will have to ascend on the stony steps that leads you to Upper Chhomrong. Overnight in Chhomrong village.

You will have a short and pleasant walking day through the forested and downhill path with occasional view of the mountain. Leading through the gradual path, most of the way, to Ghandruk village, a modern Gurung village, where you will have a overnight stop. This is the last day walk through the scenic landscapes and local villages to get down to the Syalui bazzar settled in river bank of Modi. The pleasant walk follows the Modi River until Birethanthi and reaches to Nayapul. The adventure ends here and you will be driven back to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Pokhara has an abundance of things to do, regardless of whether you are in an adventurous or relaxed frame of mind: you can go for a leisurely boat ride on the lake; take a 2 hour return walk up to the World Peace Pagoda with its incredible views to the Himalayas; visit one of the Tibetan refugee villages that dot the area, where Tibetan carpets and other handicrafts are available; hire a bike and cycle along the lakeside; you can try your hand at tandem paraglide with a professional pilot, an ultralight flight, or even take a ride on the new zipline! Of course, it is also lovely to just relax and take in the surroundings in one of the many lakeside cafes.
After nice time in Pokhara finally, we’ll escort you to the domestic airport for your return fight to Kathmandu, where you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or explore, at your pleasure. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today is your last day in Kathmandu and is an opportunity to do all the bits and pieces you thought of doing over the past few weeks including any last-minute shopping, returning to places that you enjoyed or didn’t get a chance to visit before your trek. After a great breakfast at your hotel, you are free until it is time for us to transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home. We bid farewell for now and until next time!
