Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking, an adventure of great combination that includes both scenic sides of beautiful Langtang Himal, where walks lead to high ridges and over green hills with ever-present views of Langtang-Ganesh with Jugal Himal range and as far towards Manaslu and Annapurna peaks due west.
Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking, an adventure of two-week duration which leads you to marvelous country overlooking views of peaks on daily walks, exploring rural farm villages of Tamang people interwoven with Buddhism religion and old culture similar to Tibetan which is just across the border flank by Ganesh and Langtang Himal.
Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking, an enjoyable exciting walk where the first part of the journey takes you to beautiful and scenic Langtang valley at Kyanjin enclosed by high peaks, with time here our adventure continues heading towards high areas at holy Gosainkund.
Gosainkund is a large glacial pond regarded as holy, once a year the great religious event takes place in the month of August, where hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visits here for prayer to worship Lord Shiva with a holy dip in the icy pond, believe is that it washes the sin of a hundred lifetime.
Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking, starting with a drive to trekking point at Syabrubesi village located within Rasuwa district of Langtang Himal region and then walking into farm villages and lovely woodland to reach scenic Langtang valley in Kyanjin.
From Kyanjin walk continues heading into lovely cool forested areas covered with tall rhododendron trees to reach Sing Gompa, a nice spot with an old monastery, and then heading further high to holy Gosainkund.
After a pleasant and wonderful time at the holy spot of Gosainkund walk leads to a high adventure crossing over Gosainkund-la pass also called east Laurabinaya-la at above (4,609m/15,100ft) high. The highest spot of the adventure, and then continue journey walking towards near Helambu area at Kutumsang village.
Finally, walk leads closer towards Kathmandu valley at Chisapani high hills facing a fantastic panorama of Himalayan peaks with stunning sunrise views, and then downhill to Sundarijal reaching North East of Kathmandu valley rim, where a short drive brings you back into the busy city life of Kathmandu after an overwhelming adventure and marvelous time in Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking.

Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. It’s a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. And as your plane hits the tarmac, our waiting support team will meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Welcome drinks will be served and after time in getting refreshed, that evening you will be invited to a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu. You will also receive a trip briefing before retiring for the night at the hotel.

Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath’ and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, you will be introduced to your trip guide and there will be a pre-trip discussion as well as provides opportunity to ask any last-minute questions you may have regarding your trip.

We leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi, a village which is also the starting point for treks into the Langtang valley. Our journey will be on a winding road through frequent switchbacks. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. Our trip for today ends with a descent into the small village of Syabrubesi.

After breakfast, we begin our trek to Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. We ascend and descend simultaneously through oak and rhododendron forests. After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we ascend on a steep trail which will lead us to the Lama Hotel.

We continue ascending from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Kyangjin Gompa, a principal monastery of the region. We pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We also pass by the largest mani wall in Langtang region, made from stone with prayers written on them. After the short trek, we spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine in Kyangjin Gompa and surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains.

You will spend the whole day exploring Tserko Ri which will also help you to acclimatize the high altitude. Early morning trek leads you to Tserko Ri from where the sunrise view is seen extraordinary. You will get back to Kyangjin Gompa by late afternoon exploring the beautiful monastery and enjoying views of the Himalayas, glaciers, birds and yaks.

We begin our trek after breakfast and retrace our steps to Lama Hotel. Most of the trekking today will be downhill as we pass through forests and beautiful Tamang villages. We also get to enjoy different view of the Himalayas that we had missed climbing up.

You will be beginning your trek with a climb up to the Rimche village. From there you’ll be descending the banks of the Langtang Khola. You will continue on an easy trail to bamboo forest and begin ascending to Landslide lodge. You will continue the trek to Thulo Syabru. There are two trails as you will be crossing another bridge. You will have to follow the one that passes by Pahare hotel and a waterfall at (2,210m) to reach Thulo Syabru.

Today will be a short walk but it is not important to reach Gosaikunda today because the steady gain in altitude will help you acclimatize better to the high altitude. After trekking for a while you will pass by a Chorten and a checkpoint. From the checkpoint, you need to move towards south and pass by Garta Village and Phulung Monastery before reaching Shin Gompa to spend the night.

You will get to enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Himalayas including the Annapurnas, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang. You’ll need to follow a ridge for the most part of the day and catch a glimpse of the first of the holy lakes. Gosaikunda (4,380m) carries religious and cultural significance for the Nepalese and is one of Nepal’s most visited pilgrimage sites. This lake is surrounded by mountains on all sides and has a great ensemble of nine other lakes to accompany it. Every year, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visit the lake for a holy bath during Janai Purnima in August. There is a large rock at the center which is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine.

You’ll have to move around the lake’s shore before ascending towards the Laurebina Pass (4,610m). The trail is rough. You will pass through three more small lakes before reaching the pass. You have to climb a small hill and you’ll get to enjoy excellent views of the area. The trail then passes through Surya Kunda before reaching Ghopte.

The trekking trial ascend up to Tharepati and then descend through fir and rhododendron forest. You can observe the beautiful mountain views of Mt. Dorje Lakpa range on the way to Kutumsang (2,445m).

You will have to descend to the delightful hill village of Gul Bhanjyang. Again your trail will ascend until Thodang Bettini and you will need to continue trek down to Pati Bhanjyang (1,860m) exploring a Brahman and Chhetri village. Then the trail proceeds to Chisopani.

After having breakfast you will go through the forest of oak and rhododendron to reach Borlang Bhanjyang (2,440m). Later, you will trek down to Mulkharka (1,800m) from where you can see a spectacular view of Kathmandu valley. You will be descending to Sundarijal and then driven back to Kathmandu by private transportation.

This will be a spare day in Kathmandu after the tiring trekking program. We can stroll around the streets in Thamel, a popular Tourist hub in Kathmandu for some souvenir shopping. You may also visit popular tourist attractions nearby. Either way, there will be celebration of an amazing trip, you will be our guests tonight as we host a farewell dinner at an excellent Nepalese restaurant in town.
