Classic Everest Base Camp Trekking leads you to old original trail to high Khumbu valley within Everest region, following the footsteps of late legendry Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary who first climbed Everest using this route to Everest base camp.
An interesting walks that leads you to visit both sides of Everest within lower mid hills around Solu enriched with mixed tribal village of Rai, Sherpa and Magar people interwoven with Buddhist and Hindu culture of ancient heritage.
This will be truly an exciting journey where few trekkers seldom pass around this beautiful and scenic area from Jiri towards high Khumbu, where you have the opportunity on the Classic Everest Base Camp Trekking.
Marvelous adventure and walks begins after taking an interesting long drive from Kathmandu to reach at Jiri, which famously known as Switzerland of Nepal due to its scenic landscapes of green valley, hills and mountains.
Walk starts after ending a long exciting drive following the old classic trail past nice farm villages into dense woodland with views of high snow capped peaks of Gaurishankar, Melung Tse and Number Himal and then over few scenic passes of Lamjura and Takshindo around Solu areas.
As journey progress entering higher into Khumbu area where route leads into popular trails after joining the path of Jiri and Lukla, as walk leads further high to reach famous Namche Bazaar, an interesting place to be here with rest and acclimatization days and to explore the local culture of Khumbu Sherpa.
From Namche adventure gains higher with daily views of Mt. Everest and magnificent looking peak of Amadablam including array of lesser snow capped mountains to reach at scenic spot at Thyangboche and its impressive monastery surrounded with mountain views and green woodland.
Walking beyond tree lines towards arid and barren terrain getting closer to world’s highest mountains at Everest base camp overlooking views of massive Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers and then climb on top Kalapathar, the highest point of the adventure at above (5,550m) high offers breathtaking panorama of mountain views with Mt. Everest at near distance.
After a great magnificent time and adventure around high Khumbu valley where return route leads on the same trail to reach at Lukla town, for scenic short flight back to Kathmandu with memorable moments and exciting walks on Classic Everest Base Camp Trekking.

We will welcome you at the international airport and guide you through the initial culture shock of Kathmandu’s narrow, winding streets to get you settled into your hotel.
In the afternoon (depending on your arrival time) we can take you on a bazaar walk exploring the secret alleys and courtyards of old Kathmandu that most visitors don’t get to experience.
We begin by walking into the old city and exploring the small alleyways, myriad of hidden temples belonging to both Hinduism and Buddhism (in some cases, both!) and make our way through local bazaars of fruit, vegetables, spices and stunning wares made of brass, bronze and copper. Not only exotic produce, but a fascinating mix of people are everywhere; along with the brightly clad locals of the Kathmandu Valley, you’re likely to see ‘Gurkhas’, Sherpa women in their striped aprons, traders from India, and sadhus – Hindu holy men – perhaps on pilgrimage to one of the many temples and shrines of the valley. After the breakfast, your guided tour will start where you will be taken to most of the historical and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites like Durbar Square, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath), the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath’ and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where you can ask any questions regarding your upcoming adventure. Overnight in Kathmandu.
You’ll head off to Bhandar early morning. On narrow, winding hilly roads, from a foothill to its hilltop and down again on more than a number of occasions, its around 8/10 hours drive comes with spectacular views of the hills, the villages and the greenery. Stopping only for breakfast then lunch on the way, the vehicle comes to its final stop at Bhandar. You’ll spend the night here. Overnight in Bhandar.
You’ll have to trek down to the Likhu Khloa and cross the river at (1,580m) and onto Kenja. Now you’ll make the long climb to Lamjura hill. The first part of the climb is quite steep, hence it traverses to Sete, and an abandoned stupa at (2,575m). Overnight in Sete.
The trek begins with a long but gradual climb to the Lamjura pass at (3,530m). You’ll see blooming rhododendrons on the way in the spring season. The pass is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar, there yo’ll have a good lunch stop. From the top, you have to descend to Tragdobuk (2,860m), then to the pretty Sherpa village of Junbesi (2,675m). Overnight in Junbesi.
You’ll have to climb to a ridge (3,080m) from where Everest slowly begins to appear before your eyes. From Junbesi the trail leads to the hospital and the airstrip at Phaplu and a small market at Salleri. Leaving Salung, you’ll make your way descending to the Ringmo Khola(2,650m) followed by a small climb to Ringmo. You can see an apple orchard at this spot. Then you’ll reach Trakshindo pass (3,071m) and the trail drops down pass the monastery of the same name, on to Nuntala at (2,440m). Overnight in Nunthala.
From Nunthala the path descend which continues to the Dudhkoshi River Bridge and the trail lead through terraced fields and yards of houses. Walk continues through forests then you’ll need to climb on the terraces to reach the Rai village of Jubing (1,667m). From Jubing the path tales you to a slow climb to the village around a ridge, and continues to the village of Khari Khola to push on up the steep hill to Bupsa. Overnight in Bupsa Danda.
Today the trail ascends from Bupsa and head on to Bhumsing village (2,300m) and the trail continues to the north side of the valley to reach Puiyan village (2,796m). After Puiyan, the trail leads you on the long winding trail with few small ups and downs to Surkey. Overnight in Surkey.
After the breakfast, you’ll have to climb to north to Chaurikharka (2,713m) a large scattered village with monastery and high school. The trail joins from Lukla towards Phakding, making the path quite busy with more trekkers, porters and pack animals. Walking few hours, you’ll reach Phakding for an overnight. Overnight in Phakding.
The trek begins on uphill and downhill trails with multiple crossings over Dudh Koshi River and a magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku from the Benkar village. You’ll cross more bridges and reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where the trekking permits are checked. You’ll have to walk furthermore and pass through Jorsale village before reaching Namche Bazaar. From there, you’ll get beautiful views of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse, Tawache and others. Overnight in Namche.
This is the first of the three scheduled rest days which will help you acclimatize to the high altitude. You are going to spend the day enjoying small hikes in and around Namche Bazaar. You’ll hike up to Everest View Hotel to enjoy admirable views of the Himalayan peaks. On the way back to Namche you’ll also tour the Khumjung Monastery and Hillary School. Today’s trek begins on an easy trail to Phunki Thanga. From here you’ll ascend towards Tengboche village which is home to the largest monastery in the Everest region. The monastery is located within the Sagarmatha National Park and provide panoramic views of the highest mountains on earth including Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse and Lhotse. Overnight in Tengboche.
Todays trek begins by walking downhill and pass through lush forests filled with birch, conifers and rhododendron trees. The picturesque trail dips down to Debuche crossing the Imja river takes you to Pangboche. While walking the upper Pangboche trails, you can get a more pristine view of the Himalayas and Pangboche Monastery. You’ll have to move towards the Imja Valley, Lobuche River and ultimately climb up to Dingboche. Overnight in Dingboche.
Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers and climbers who is headed to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam or Imja Tse. The village is beautiful with an array of fields. You’ll spend a day at Dingboche for acclimatization. You’ll take a day hike to Nagarjun Hill for great views of Makalu, Lhotse, Chalotse, Tawache, Ama Dablam and others. Overnight in Dingboche.
You have to trek along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials. You’ll continue to climb as you are heading to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of the giant Lobuche peak. Overnight in Lobuche.
You’ll have to moves along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. You can see the crest of the north ridge of Everest along with Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse and other mountains. A short walk takes you to Thangma Riju from where you can admire panoramic views of the various peaks. You’ll need to ascend on a steep trail up to the top of Changri Glacier. As you reach Gorak Shep, you are surrounded by the Himalayas. You have to pass through rocky dunes, moraines and streams before reaching the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain, Everest. From there you can admire Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. You need to trek back to Gorak Shep to spend the night. Overnight in Gorakshep.
Today walk will be a chance to take it easy, as you will descend into drastically lower altitudes along much of the same route as your previous ascent. From Pheriche, descend into the valley of the Imja Khola past Orsho and into Pangbuche along a moderate trail. Quickly check out the Gompa at Pangbuche if you didn’t get a chance going up last time, and continue your descent over a bridge and through a forest to Tengbuche, where you may spot native musk deer and pheasants.
You have to prepare for an early morning departure, amid pre-dawn darkness and cold temperatures (-10 to -14 C). Plus, there is always the potential for chilly winds which are quite common. You’ll see peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse tower. But, it is upon reaching Kala Patthar that you’ll get to see 360 degree up-close and formidable views of Mt. Everest. You can take pictures, enjoy the magnificent mountain panorama, and then return back to Gorak Shep, the groups will have breakfast and descend down to Pheriche for a good night’s rest. Today walk will be a chance to take it easy, as you will descend into drastically lower altitudes along much of the same route as your previous ascent. From Pheriche, descend into the valley of the Imja Khola past Orsho and into Pangbuche along a moderate trail. Quickly check out the Gompa at Pangbuche if you didn’t get a chance going up last time, and continue your descent over a bridge and through a forest to Tengbuche, where you may spot native musk deer and pheasants.
After reaching Tengbuche, descend to the river at Phungi Thanga and climb slightly through swaths of pine trees up to Kyangjoma, the final destination for today. Here, Tibetan traders thrive, the temperature is pleasant, and oxygen in the air is plentiful. Overnight in Kyangjoma.
This morning, you will finally return to the lowlands after your last high-altitude treks. Set in a backdrop that offers amazing views of Thamserku and Kangtaiga, you will descend into Namche below and get a chance to visit the local market. Depending on the day, the markets may be bustling with activity as different groups of people gather. Stalls sell everything from rice, eggs, and beer to shoes, kitchen pots, and CDs — all of which used to be carried up by porters before the market was established. If you arrive on a Saturday, you can watch as local Sherpas come in from distant villages to stock up on supplies and replenish the tea houses.
Later in the afternoon, continue your descent into the warmer valley and shed a few layers of clothing. The trek is relatively relaxing, and eventually, you will be back in the Dudhkoshi Valley. Pass your last checkpoint for the day at Jorsale and stop at Monjo. Overnight in Monjo.
You have to descend steeply to Chauri Kharka. On the way you’ll pass Phakding and Cheplung villages. You’ll have a night stay at Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.
You’ll have a flight to Kathmandu in the morning. After reaching the capital city, you have the rest of the day off. You can take a rest in the hotel room or shop for souvenirs for your loved ones. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today is your last day in Kathmandu and is an opportunity to do all the bits and pieces you thought of doing over the past few weeks including any last-minute shopping, returning to places that you enjoyed or didn’t get a chance to visit before your trek. It’s your last day in Nepal! You can grab some breakfast, and then take in some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu. We’ll make sure you arrive the Kathmandu International Airport with plenty of time before your flight to home. This time, we’ll be saying our goodbyes and bid you farewell, armed with warm memories and gorgeous photos to show your loved ones.
