Everest Three High Passes Trekking, an adventure that leads you within world highest mountains facing incredible views of dramatic scenery of rolling green hills, rocky high peaks with ever present Mt. Everest.
On this marvelous journey starting with moderate walks, as altitude gains gets adventurous and as well challenging sometimes in heavy snow condition, where all trekkers needs adequate equipment to face this challenging adventure on Everest Three High Passes Trekking.
A breathtaking walk of a life-time experience sandwiched between towering high peaks of Khumbu Himal in the shadow of Everest and in the harmony of local Sherpa colorful culture and age-old Buddhist religious custom.
Everest Three High Passes Trekking commence with a short scenic flight from Kathmandu to land at unique airstrip in Lukla, where walk leads you into beautiful areas around Sherpa villages with well tended farms and terraces decorated with religious inscriptions and Mani-Walls.
As walk progress reaching high at Namche Bazaar, the hub of Khumbu Sherpa where once a week a colorful and busy Saturday market takes place, which is interesting to observe on rest days at Namche for acclimatization.
After Namche walk leads on scenic wide trail facing marvelous views of Everest-Lhotse with majestic Amadablam with other lesser peaks as walk leads into cool shade of woodland to reach at beautiful spot of Thyangboche and its impressive monastery surrounded within green woodland with mountain scenery.
With much rest days and preparations where adventure leads over the first high pass of the trip to cross over Kongma-la at above (5,535m) to reach Lobuche on route Everest base camp, walk to Everest base camp to catch wonderful views of Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers with time for scenic climb on top Kalapathar hill.
From Kalapathar enjoy fabulous spectacular panorama of mountains with Everest at close distance, and then heading over our second high pass of the adventure traversing over Cho-la to reach at magnificent valley at Gokyo with its serene glacial lakes with climb to another view point of Gokyo-Ri.
Fantastic views of world’s four highest peaks at one glance Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu with Makalu in the east, after a glorious moment heading towards our last and final high pass to cross over Renjo-la and then on long descend to sleepy and quaint village at Thame.
At Thame visits its old interesting monastery and then walk leads on good scenic trail back into green woodland to reach at Namche and then downhill to Lukla for panoramic flight to Kathmandu after a memorable and exciting adventure on Everest Three High Passes Trekking.
We will welcome you at the international airport and guide you through the initial culture shock of Kathmandu’s narrow, winding streets to get you settled into your hotel.
In the afternoon (depending on your arrival time) we can take you on a bazaar walk exploring the secret alleys and courtyards of old Kathmandu that most visitors don’t get to experience.
We begin by walking into the old city and exploring the small alleyways, myriad of hidden temples belonging to both Hinduism and Buddhism (in some cases, both!) and make our way through local bazaars of fruit, vegetables, spices and stunning wares made of brass, bronze and copper. Not only exotic produce, but a fascinating mix of people are everywhere; along with the brightly clad locals of the Kathmandu Valley, you’re likely to see ‘Gurkhas’, Sherpa women in their striped aprons, traders from India, and sadhus – Hindu holy men – perhaps on pilgrimage to one of the many temples and shrines of the valley. After the breakfast, your guided tour will start where you will be taken to most of the historical and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites like Durbar Square, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath), the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath’ and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where you can ask any questions regarding your upcoming adventure. Overnight in Kathmandu.
All treks to Everest begin from Luka where you will be flying to, early in the morning. The flight will be an interesting one since you will be flying amidst the grand Himalayas. The short trek to Phakding begins immediately after you land at Lukla Airport. You will be at a Cheplung village from where you can have a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila. From Cheplung, you’ll continue descending to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.
The trek begins on uphill and downhill trails with multiple crossings over Dudh Koshi River and a magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku from the Benkar village. You’ll cross more bridges and reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where the trekking permits are checked. You’ll have to walk furthermore and pass through Jorsale village before reaching Namche Bazaar. From there, you’ll get beautiful views of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse, Tawache and others. Overnight in Namche.
This is the first of the three scheduled rest days which will help you acclimatize to the high altitude. You are going to spend the day enjoying small hikes in and around Namche Bazaar. You’ll hike up to Everest View Hotel to enjoy admirable views of the Himalayan peaks. On the way back to Namche you’ll also tour the Khumjung Monastery and Hillary School. Today’s trek begins on an easy trail to Phunki Thanga. From here you’ll ascend towards Tengboche village which is home to the largest monastery in the Everest region. The monastery is located within the Sagarmatha National Park and provide panoramic views of the highest mountains on earth including Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse and Lhotse. Todays trek begins by walking downhill and pass through lush forests filled with birch, conifers and rhododendron trees. The picturesque trail dips down to Debuche crossing the Imja river takes you to Pangboche. While walking the upper Pangboche trails, you can get a more pristine view of the Himalayas and Pangboche Monastery. You’ll have to move towards the Imja Valley, Lobuche River and ultimately climb up to Dingboche. Overnight in Dingboche.
Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers and climbers who is headed to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam or Imja Tse. The village is beautiful with an array of fields. You’ll spend a day at Dingboche for acclimatization. You’ll take a day hike to Nagarjun Hill for great views of Makalu, Lhotse, Chalotse, Tawache, Ama Dablam and others. Overnight in Dingboche.
The trail passes through stone-walled fields and Imja Khola valley before entering glacier moraines amidst towering Himalayas. You’ll have to continue to trek to Bibre. From here, you’ll get a fantastic view of Ama Dablam and the Amphu Labsa mountains. You’ll continue the walk for around half an hour to reach Chhukung. From here, you can look directly across the valley with mesmerizing view of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labcha peaks. You have to descend back to Chhukung to spend the night. Overnight in Chhukung.
Today’s trek begins early in the morning to reach the highest part of the entire trip which is Kongma La pass. You can either take a trail over a hill which is to the northwest of Chhukung over the Nuptse Glacier moraines or walk back to Bibre and trek on the trail above the Niyang Khola. The descend from the pass is the most difficult part of today’s journey. After climbing the moraine on the far side, the trail turns north through Khumbu Glacier which takes you to Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.
You’ll have to moves along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. You can see the crest of the north ridge of Everest along with Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse and other mountains. A short walk takes you to Thangma Riju from where you can admire panoramic views of the various peaks. You’ll need to ascend on a steep trail up to the top of Changri Glacier. As you reach Gorak Shep, you are surrounded by the Himalayas. You have to pass through rocky dunes, moraines and streams before reaching the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain, Everest. From there you can admire Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. You need to trek back to Gorak Shep to spend the night. Overnight in Gorakshep.
The trek will start to Kala Patthar early in the morning in order to catch remarkable views of the first light of the sun shining on Mt. Everest. However, you need to be prepared for trekking in the dark and cold temperature (the temperature varies according to the season). Furthermore, there is always a chance for chilly winds which are quite common. As you continue the trek, familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, Everest and Nuptse tower can be seen. After several hours of ascent, you will be on the top of Kala Patthar. You can get the close-up view of Mt. Everest and other peaks from Kalapathar. You can enjoy the stunning view and have to descend down to Dzongla for a night stay. Overnight in Dzongla.
After the early morning breakfast at Dzongla your trekking will start. Today you trek through the second pass of the trekking route, the Cho La Pass and through small glacial river and snow covered path to reach the summit of Cho La Pass. The trekking along the snow covered path is regarded more challenging than peak climbing. You can beautiful view of mountains like Ama Dablam, Cholutse and many other Himalayas. You have to descend through the snowy and rocky trail with moraines and water deposits to finally arrive at Thaknag. Overnight in Thaknak.
After having the breakfast, you have to start the trekking through the snowy path of Ngajumba glacier. You’ll pass through beautiful frozen lakes and enjoy the mountain panorama throughout the high trekking trail. Finally arriving at the famous village of Gokyo with abundance of grazing location near the large lake., you’ll stay overnight at the beautiful Gokyo village. Overnight in Gokyo.
Gokyo is a trade center where Sherpa people run local lodges and provide the good services to the trekkers. Gokyo is situated by the side of Ngozumpa Glacier, the biggest glacier in Nepal. Today, we will walk around the lake and we can make the side trip of the 5th lake as well if you are up for it. We will also hike up to Gokyo Peak (5,360m/17,585ft), a stunning viewpoint to see the glacial lakes and massive peaks. Overnight in Gokyo.
The trek for today is long but on the normal trail. You can see amazing view of Mt. Everest on the way. Then you have to descend down to Lunden for today’s final destination. Overnight in Lungdhen.
The trail will mostly descend down to Thame. On the trail you can see amazing views of snow peaks along with Thame Monastery, a picturesque monastery set among the many homes of monks and local peoples. Overnight in Thame.
On the following day, you will pass through the scenic and peaceful valley endowed with rich biodiversity and culture. You’ll come across Sherpa settlements. You’ll see Kongde, Everest, Makalu, Pharchamo, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Kangtega and Kusum Kang on the way. After arriving Monjo, you’ll have a night stay there. Overnight in Monjo village.
You have to descend steeply to Chauri Kharka. On the way you’ll pass Phakding and Cheplung villages. You’ll have a night stay at Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.
You’ll have a flight to Kathmandu in the morning. After reaching the capital city, you have the rest of the day off. You can take a rest in the hotel room or shop for souvenirs for your loved ones. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today is your last day in Kathmandu and is an opportunity to do all the bits and pieces you thought of doing over the past few weeks including any last-minute shopping, returning to places that you enjoyed or didn’t get a chance to visit before your trek. After a great breakfast at your hotel, you are free until it is time for us to transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home. We bid farewell for now and until next time!
