Mr. Thile Lama Sherpa

Namaste!

My name is Thile Lama Sherpa, and I was born and raised in the beautiful Everest region of Solukhumbu, Nepal. Growing up in the Himalayas gave me a deep love and respect for the mountains, nature, and the people who call this region home.

I started my trekking career in 1996 as an Assistant Trekking Guide in the Ganesh Himal region. In 2000, I completed my Government-certified Trekking Guide training and have continued to improve my knowledge through professional training in mountain safety, trekking leadership, tourism, and responsible travel.

For nearly three decades, I have had the privilege of guiding travelers from all over the world across the Himalayas. I have led treks in many of Nepal’s most beautiful regions, including Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Makalu, Rolwaling, and many other remote mountain areas. I have also guided journeys in Ladakh, India, and to the sacred Mt. Kailash in Tibet.

After many years of working with respected trekking companies in Nepal, I fulfilled my dream by founding E.B.C. Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. on 23 May 2017. My goal has always been simple—to offer safe, well-organized adventures with honest service, personal care, and genuine Nepalese hospitality.

Today, I am proud to work with an experienced and dedicated team of guides, climbing professionals, porters, and office staff. Together, we welcome travelers from around the world and organize trekking holidays, peak climbing adventures, cultural tours, wildlife tours, helicopter tours, and customized holidays throughout Nepal and the Himalayas.

Travel has also given me the opportunity to visit Australia and many countries across Europe and Asia. These experiences have helped me better understand what international travelers expect and how to provide a high standard of service while keeping the warmth of local hospitality.

Beyond tourism, I believe it is important to give something back to the communities that have supported me throughout my life.

Since 2019, I have been an active member of the Rotary Club of Boudha, under Rotary International District 3292 (Nepal & Bhutan). I have served as Club Treasurer, Club Vice President, and President for the 2023–2024 Rotary year, working on projects that support education, healthcare, environmental protection, and community development.

I also had the honor of serving as President of the School Management Committee of Shree Chiwang Basic School in my home village, helping improve educational opportunities for local children.

I am a Lifetime Member of the Nepal Red Cross Society, a Lifetime Member of Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), and a Patron Member of a Sherpa social service organization in Boudhanath, Kathmandu.

In February 2023, I founded SATHI (Sherpa Aid Throughout Himalayas), a nonprofit organization that supports education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and community development in remote Himalayan villages. One of our proudest achievements is providing annual scholarships to 33 underprivileged students with the generous support of friends from the United States.

For me, guiding is much more than leading people on mountain trails. It is about sharing my home, introducing visitors to our culture, respecting nature, supporting local people, and creating friendships that last long after the journey ends.

When you travel with E.B.C. Treks & Expedition, you are not only exploring the magnificent Himalayas—you are also supporting responsible tourism and helping local communities build a better future.
