We will always do our best to keep the journey running smoothly and according to plan, but a flexible and easy-going attitude is an important part of traveling in the mountains.
1. How difficult is the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered a moderate trek and is suitable for people with a good level of fitness, including beginners who prepare with regular walking or exercise. You will normally walk for about 4–7 hours each day, following mountain trails, forests, stone staircases, and traditional villages. No previous trekking experience is required, but good physical fitness and a positive attitude will help you enjoy the trek comfortably.
2. What is the highest point of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
The highest point is Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m / 13,550 ft). From here, you are surrounded by spectacular Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
3. When is the best time to do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the weather is generally stable and mountain views are at their best. Spring is especially beautiful when the rhododendron forests are in bloom. The trek is also possible during other months, although the monsoon season (June–August) brings more rain and less reliable mountain views.
4. Do I need previous trekking experience?
No. Previous trekking experience is not required. The trek is suitable for beginners with reasonable fitness. Regular walking, hiking, or light exercise before your trip will help you enjoy the journey more comfortably.
5. What type of accommodation is provided?
You will stay in tourist-standard hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara and the best available local teahouses/lodges during the trek. Mountain accommodation is generally simple and comfortable, with twin-sharing rooms and basic facilities.
6. What meals are included during the trek?
The trek includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner each day. Meals are freshly prepared at local teahouses, with Nepalese, Asian, and some Western options. Evening soup, seasonal fresh fruit, and selected hot drinks are also included as specified in the package.
7. Is safe drinking water available?
Yes. Boiled, filtered, and bottled water are available at most teahouses for an additional charge. We recommend carrying a reusable water bottle and using water purification tablets or a personal filter to reduce plastic waste.
8. Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. Your policy should cover trekking up to at least 4,130 m, emergency medical treatment, and helicopter evacuation if required.
9. Is there a risk of altitude sickness?
There is some risk of altitude sickness above 2,500 m, although the overall risk on this trek is moderate. Our itinerary follows a gradual ascent, and our guides monitor your condition and provide advice throughout the trek.
10. Will Wi-Fi, electricity, and mobile network coverage be available?
Most teahouses provide Wi-Fi, electricity, and mobile network coverage, although services can become less reliable at higher elevations. Charging and Wi-Fi may require a small additional payment.
11. Who will carry my luggage?
Our porters will carry your main trekking luggage. One porter is provided for every two trekkers, with a maximum combined load of 20 kg. You only need to carry a small daypack with your daily essentials.
12. What should I pack for the trek?
Bring comfortable trekking boots, layered clothing, waterproof clothing, a warm jacket, gloves, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, personal toiletries, and necessary medications. A detailed packing list will be provided before your trip.
13. Are hot showers and charging facilities available?
Yes. Most teahouses provide hot showers and charging facilities for an additional fee. At higher elevations, services may be limited, so carrying a power bank is recommended.
14. What happens if weather or other delays affect the itinerary?
Weather conditions can occasionally affect flights, road travel, or trekking schedules. Our itinerary includes a reserve day for additional flexibility. If no adjustment is required, you can enjoy extra free time in Pokhara or Kathmandu.
