Your Himalayan adventure begins in Kathmandu, the beautiful and lively capital of Nepal. Rich in history, culture, and tradition, Kathmandu is a wonderful place to begin your journey. Ancient temples, colorful streets, local markets, friendly people, and the green hills around the valley create a warm and memorable welcome to Nepal.

 

If the weather is clear during your flight, you may enjoy your first beautiful views of the Himalayan mountains. Looking out of your window and seeing the snow-covered peaks for the first time is a special moment and a wonderful introduction to the adventure waiting ahead.

 

After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will complete the immigration formalities and collect your luggage. Once you enter the arrival hall, our friendly representative will be waiting to welcome you with a sign displaying your name or the E.B.C. Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. logo. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to your carefully selected hotel in Kathmandu.

 

After checking in, enjoy a warm welcome drink and take some time to rest after your journey. If you arrive early and feel ready to explore, you can take a gentle walk around the nearby streets, visit local shops, or simply enjoy the sounds and colors of Kathmandu. Day 02: Kathmandu Cultural Exploration & Trek Preparation

After breakfast at your hotel, today is a wonderful opportunity to discover the heart and soul of Kathmandu Valley before heading into the Himalayas. You will explore some of Nepal’s most important cultural and spiritual places, where ancient temples, Buddhist stupas, royal courtyards, and local traditions have been part of daily life for centuries.

 

With your experienced cultural guide, you will visit four important UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Along the way, you will learn about Nepal’s history, religion, art, traditions, and the way local people have lived for generations.

 

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Begin your cultural journey at Kathmandu Durbar Square, the historic heart of the old city and former royal palace of the Malla kings. Walk through its beautiful courtyards and ancient streets, admire the detailed wood carvings and traditional temples, and discover stories from Nepal’s rich royal and cultural past.

 

Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)

Next, climb gently to Swayambhunath Stupa, one of the oldest and most beautiful Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. Located on a hill above the valley, the stupa is surrounded by colorful prayer flags, prayer wheels, and small shrines. From the hilltop, you can enjoy wonderful views across Kathmandu Valley while feeling the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of this special place. Pashupatinath Temple

Continue to Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temple, situated beside the holy Bagmati River. Boudhanath Stupa

Day 03: Easy Morning in Kathmandu – Fly to Pokhara (827 m / 2,713 ft) – Approx. 20-Minute Scenic Flight

After a relaxing night in Kathmandu, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before continuing your journey to Pokhara, the beautiful lakeside city and gateway to the Annapurna Himalayas.

 

Around two hours before your flight, your guide will meet you at the hotel and accompany you to Kathmandu Domestic Airport. We recommend arriving at least one hour before departure so you have enough time to complete the check-in process comfortably.

 

The short flight to Pokhara is a beautiful experience, especially on a clear day. As the plane leaves Kathmandu Valley, you may enjoy wonderful views of the green hills, valleys, and snow-covered Himalayan peaks along the way. The changing landscape gives you a lovely first feeling of getting closer to the mountains.

 

After landing in Pokhara, your guide will accompany you to your hotel. Check in, settle into your room, and take some time to relax after the journey.

Day 04: Drive to Dhampus and Trek to Deurali (2,100 m / 6,890 ft) – Approx. 4–5 Hours, 9 km

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara, we begin the day with a scenic drive toward the mountains. The road passes through Phedi and winds gently up the hillside to Dhampus, a beautiful Gurung village perched along a mountain ridge. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours and allows you to begin your trek from a higher point while enjoying wonderful views of the surrounding hills.

 

Upon reaching Dhampus, you will have your first close views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Take some time to stretch your legs, enjoy a cup of local tea, and soak in the peaceful mountain surroundings.

 

After this refreshing break, your trek officially begins. The trail follows a scenic stone-paved path through lush landscapes toward Pothana, where you will stop for lunch. From here, the views become even more impressive, with the magnificent Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges appearing across the horizon.

 

After lunch, continue along stone steps, terraced fields, and peaceful rhododendron and oak forests, passing through small local settlements along the way. Gradually, you will reach Deurali, beautifully situated on a mountain ridge and offering magnificent views of Annapurna South, Mardi Himal, and Machhapuchhre.

Day 05: Trek to Forest Camp / Kokar (2,970 m / 9,744 ft) – Approx. 5 Hours, 8 km

After a fresh breakfast at Deurali, we leave the main trail behind and enter a quieter and peaceful forest path. Today’s walk takes you through beautiful forests filled with rhododendron, oak, maple, and hemlock trees. During spring, the colorful rhododendron flowers make the trail especially beautiful.

 

The trail is peaceful and less crowded, giving you a wonderful chance to enjoy the natural sounds of the forest and the fresh mountain air. As you walk beneath the green forest canopy, the peaceful surroundings create a true feeling of being close to nature.

 

After several hours of walking, the forest opens into a small mountain clearing known as Kokar, or Forest Camp. Upon arrival, check into your Local Teahouse/Lodge and take some time to rest. You can enjoy a hot drink, explore the peaceful surroundings, and relax in the quiet atmosphere of the forest.

Day 06: Trek to Low Camp / Badal Danda (3,540 m / 11,614 ft) – Approx. 5 Hours, 7 km

After a fresh breakfast at Forest Camp, you will continue your journey higher into the mountains. Today’s trail passes through beautiful, moss-covered cloud forests filled with rhododendron, oak, and other mountain trees. The peaceful forest, fresh air, birdsong, and changing vegetation make this a wonderful part of the Mardi Himal trail.

 

As you gradually gain altitude, the dense forest begins to become thinner, and the landscape slowly opens toward the mountains. Reaching Low Camp / Badal Danda is a special moment, with increasingly impressive views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.

 

After arriving at the teahouse, take some time to rest and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. If the weather is clear, you can spend the afternoon enjoying the spectacular Himalayan views, meeting friendly local people, or simply relaxing in the quiet atmosphere.

Day 07: Trek to High Camp (4,250 m / 13,944 ft) – Approx. 3 Hours, 5 km

Following a hearty breakfast at Low Camp, you will begin a beautiful uphill trek along the scenic alpine ridge toward Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). As you gradually gain altitude, the dense forest becomes thinner and the landscape opens into a wide alpine setting with low shrubs and scattered rhododendron bushes.

 

The trail offers increasingly impressive views as you walk higher above the valleys. If you are lucky, you may also spot the colorful Danphe (Impeyan Monal), Nepal’s national bird, among the alpine vegetation.

 

After a steady climb, you will reach High Camp, your destination for the day. Situated high on the ridge, High Camp offers wonderful close-up views of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.

Day 08: Morning Hike to Viewpoint (4,500 m / 14,763 ft) and Return to High Camp – Approx. 7 Hours, 8 km

Today is the highlight of your Mardi Himal adventure. You will wake up early, before sunrise, and begin the exciting hike toward the Upper Viewpoint. The trail climbs steadily along a narrow alpine ridge and across open mountain slopes. Some sections are steep and challenging, but the breathtaking scenery makes every step worthwhile.

 

As you climb higher, the landscape becomes more open, and the surrounding mountains appear closer and more impressive. Reaching the Viewpoint at 4,500 m is a truly special moment. From here, you can enjoy magnificent, wide-open views of the Mardi Himal, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Baraha Shikhar (Mt. Fang), Tent Peak, Singhachuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

Day 09: Trek to Siding Village (1,750 m / 5,741 ft) – Approx. 6 Hours, 12 km

After enjoying a final breakfast at High Camp, you will begin your descent from the high mountains toward the peaceful lower valleys. Today, you will follow a different trail from the route you used on the way up, giving you a fresh view of the Mardi Himal landscape and making the trek feel like a complete circuit.

 

The trail gradually descends through beautiful alpine meadows and quiet forests. As you lose altitude, the scenery changes from open mountain slopes to greener landscapes filled with trees, small streams, and peaceful natural surroundings.

 

After several hours of walking, you will reach Siding Village, a traditional mountain settlement away from the busier trekking trails. Here, you can enjoy the simple lifestyle of the local people, meet friendly villagers, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful Himalayan community.

From here, you can enjoy magnificent, wide-open views of the Mardi Himal, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Baraha Shikhar (Mt. Fang), Tent Peak, Singhachuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

After spending memorable moments at the viewpoint, you will retrace your steps along the ridge and descend back to High Camp. Enjoy a warm and well-deserved meal before relaxing for the rest of the afternoon and reflecting on your wonderful achievement.

After enjoying a final breakfast at High Camp, you will begin your descent from the high mountains toward the peaceful lower valleys. Today, you will follow a different trail from the route you used on the way up, giving you a fresh view of the Mardi Himal landscape and making the trek feel like a complete circuit.

 

The trail gradually descends through beautiful alpine meadows and quiet forests. As you lose altitude, the scenery changes from open mountain slopes to greener landscapes filled with trees, small streams, and peaceful natural surroundings.

 

After several hours of walking, you will reach Siding Village, a traditional mountain settlement away from the busier trekking trails. Here, you can enjoy the simple lifestyle of the local people, meet friendly villagers, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful Himalayan community.

 

Take some time to relax after the day’s walk, enjoy a warm meal, and appreciate the quieter side of the Mardi Himal region.
